With all receptionist/clerical and secretarial resumes, the main purpose of your resume is to highlight your customer service skills.
As of course during your employment as a receptionist etc, your customer service skills are going to be the skill that you use the most, as you will be dealing with clients and customers over the phone and or in person.
And communication skills are another important skill, as you will be dealing with other employees and your boss each day.
Another thing is your clerical/receptionist skills must be up to scratch for example, a good word processing knowledge is a must and knowledge of other computer programs such as Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint

Highlight all these key skills in your receptionist resume and I do not mean highlight them with a highlighter!
If you have other skills you learnt in your positions don't delve to deep into them concentrate on the skills the position and company are looking for or are related to the role of being a receptionist.
For example if they are looking for a receptionist with sound Microsoft packages knowledge, have a section in the resume that lists and shoes them a sample of all the Microsoft programs that you know how to use as in the sample below.

And another example is if they are looking for someone with sound phone skills, concentrate on explaining your phone skills in the resume like this Sample: Handled a minimum of 50 phone calls a day using a six way switchboard in a very high paced environment. You can also see this example in the sample resume just below under the receptionist category.

Basically we do this so that when the employer reads this resume they will think " Wow that is exactly the receptionist that we are looking for!" just by reading your resume which is a sample of you.
